Bring your bills
Gather recent electricity bills and note changes in occupancy or working hours. Share monthly units as well as bill amounts so the conversation is not based on one unusually high or low month.
List the loads that matter
Write down the appliances you use during the day and those you want during an outage. Ask the designer to separate ordinary energy needs from backup requirements.
Review the roof
Ask for a site survey covering usable space, shade, access, mounting and electrical routes. Request a written explanation of any work needed before installation.
Ask for the assumptions
Request the proposed system size, equipment schedule and calculation assumptions. Our solar calculator uses sample rates and is a discussion tool, not a final design or savings promise.
Keep your decisions together.
Keep approved samples, finishes and any substitutions in a written selection record.
